Dragon Boat on Lake Meridian

This was an early morning shot with the dragon boat moving through the fog lying on the surface of the lake.

Love on the Lake

Ahhh, Love on the lake. With a great reflection. That heart is at least six feet high!

This was a 25 second time exposure from my deck looking across the lake.

Fireworks on the Lake

Probably the family favorite event of the year, has to be the 4th of July and the fireworks show. The homeowners association and the City of Kent partner to put it on. We use Entertainment Fireworks and they shoot the show from 12 floating docks that have been bolted together and anchored in the middle of the lake.

Winter Moonrise

It was cold and clear tonight and the moonrise was amazing. I stepped outside and took several very long shots - probably about 20-30 second exposures. I tweaked the raw images a bit in photoshop to increase the brightness and to crop out the roof.

Bald Eagle

We have a nesting pair of bald eagles on the lake, and the occasional osprey. This shot was taken from my deck when the eagle was sitting at the top of my neighbor's tree. I took several shots as he took off and flew directly over me.

Sunrise

We face east and that means wonderful sunrises.

The colors of a lake are constantly in change. It is always something new and subtle. Sunrise, sunset, or even a moonrise.
